About This Program

Comprehensive endocrine care, without the wait

Endocrinology care for thyroid disorders, hormonal imbalances, adrenal conditions, pituitary disease, and metabolic syndromes. Led by Royal-College-certified endocrinologists with specialist training in obesity medicine and diabetes.

Endocrine wait times in Ontario routinely stretch 6–12 months. For thyroid disease, adrenal disorders, or any progressive hormonal condition — that delay matters. We bring specialist endocrinology to your screen, fast.

Endocrine conditions affect how your body produces and uses hormones — and the wrong (or missing) hormone management can affect energy, weight, mood, fertility, and long-term health. Our specialists make modern endocrine care accessible without months-long waits.

Conditions Treated

Who we help

Our endocrinology program covers a comprehensive range of hormonal and metabolic conditions:

Hypothyroidism (under-active thyroid)
Hyperthyroidism (Graves disease, etc.)
Thyroid nodules & goitre
Hashimoto thyroiditis
Adrenal insufficiency / Cushing syndrome

Obesity medicine & GLP-1 therapy
Treatment Options

Endocrine therapies available

Endocrinology medications are highly individualised. Following lab review, your specialist may consider:

Methimazole / PTU
Antithyroid
For hyperthyroidism — reduces thyroid hormone production. Often paired with beta-blockers for symptom relief while waiting for the medication to take effect.
Antithyroid Therapy
GLP-1 Therapy
Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro
Modern obesity medicine — increasingly used for metabolic syndrome, PCOS, and weight management when lifestyle alone is insufficient.
Metabolic / Obesity Therapy
Bisphosphonates
Alendronate, Zoledronate
For osteoporosis (often endocrine in origin). Newer agents like Prolia (denosumab) and Forteo (teriparatide) available for severe disease.
Bone Health Therapy
Our Process

How your program works

A clear pathway from inquiry to specialist consultation.

1

Initial Intake & Records Review

Send recent labs (TSH, T4, T3, hormones as relevant), imaging if available, and a list of current medications. Our team reviews within one business day.

2

Lab Work if Needed

Updated thyroid panel, hormone levels, and metabolic labs may be ordered to inform your treatment plan — at no cost via OHIP.

3

Specialist Consultation

A virtual consult with your DOS endocrinologist to review labs, discuss symptoms, and design a treatment plan.

4

Prescription & Plan Start

If indicated, prescriptions are sent to your pharmacy. Imaging or biopsy referrals coordinated as needed.

5

Ongoing Adjustment

Most endocrine conditions need fine-tuning — TSH-guided thyroid adjustments, dose titration, periodic re-imaging. Regular virtual check-ins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Endocrinology FAQ

Common questions about specialist endocrine care.

For OHIP coverage, yes — most specialist visits in Ontario require a referral from a family physician or another specialist. Our team will help you obtain one if needed.
Yes. The reference range for TSH is wide, and individual patients often feel their best at a specific point within (or just outside) that range. Endocrinologists treat the patient, not just the lab number — we will dig into the full picture.
Yes. Most thyroid nodule management is virtual — review of ultrasound, decision on whether to biopsy, monitoring of growth. If a biopsy is needed, we coordinate with a local imaging centre near you.
No. GLP-1 medications (Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro) are increasingly used for obesity, PCOS, and metabolic syndrome — not just diabetes. Your endocrinologist will discuss whether you are a candidate.
We work alongside your family doctor, not in place of them. Notes are sent to your family doctor with your consent. For ongoing thyroid management, you may continue to see us periodically (e.g. every 6–12 months) while your family doctor handles other primary care.
Typically within 1 week for a first appointment. Compare to public-system endocrine wait times in Ontario which can be 6–12 months for non-urgent referrals.
