Contrave (naltrexone/bupropion) is a prescription oral medication that may be considered as part of a physician-supervised weight management plan. Doctors On Site connects Ontario patients with licensed physicians who assess eligibility and, where clinically appropriate, provide a prescription with follow-up.

It is approved in Canada for chronic weight management in eligible adults and is thought to work on areas of the brain involved in appetite and cravings. Unlike GLP-1 medications, Contrave is not an injection. It is available in Ontario by prescription only and should be used under the supervision of a licensed physician as part of a plan that includes diet and lifestyle changes.
