What is Jardiance?

Jardiance is a brand name for empagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor approved in Canada for type 2 diabetes. In certain patients it is also used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events and to support kidney health. It is taken orally as a once-daily tablet and is available by prescription only, under the supervision of a licensed physician.
