About This Program

Sports medicine that takes you seriously

Sports medicine care covering injury assessment, return-to-sport guidance, concussion management, and performance medicine — including programs designed for Hyrox, CrossFit, marathon training, and other endurance disciplines.

Generic "rest and ice" advice is not sports medicine. Real sports medicine is structured: injury phase identification, evidence-based progression, return-to-load protocols, prevention strategies. That is what we deliver.

Whether you are a recreational athlete dealing with a persistent injury, a competitor planning a safe return, or someone wanting structured performance medicine support — our program meets you where you are.

Conditions Treated

Pre-participation evaluations

Our Process

How your program works

A clear pathway from injury or goal to specialist plan.

1

Initial Intake & Goal Setting

Describe your injury or performance goal. For injuries: when did it start, how does it feel, what makes it worse? For performance: what event are you training for?

2

Imaging or Lab Work if Needed

X-rays, MRI, or labs (if relevant — e.g. iron studies for endurance fatigue) ordered as appropriate.

3

Specialist Consultation

A virtual visit to assess history, demonstrate movement testing remotely (often surprisingly informative), and design your plan.

4

Plan Delivery

A written plan: phase-by-phase progression, rehab exercises, return-to-sport milestones, prevention strategies. Coordinated with physiotherapy if needed.

5

Follow-Up & Adjustment

Regular check-ins to assess progress, adjust loading, and progress through phases. Same physician each visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Sports medicine FAQ

Common questions about our virtual sports medicine program.

For most injury assessment and return-to-sport planning, yes — surprisingly well. Movement testing can be guided remotely (your physician walks you through specific tests on camera), and treatment plans are paperwork. Where hands-on examination matters, we coordinate with local physiotherapy or imaging.
If you suspect a concussion in the first 24 hours, see a doctor in person (urgent care or ER) for initial assessment and to rule out severe brain injury. After that initial assessment, our program is excellent for ongoing concussion recovery — return-to-learn / return-to-work / return-to-sport planning, symptom management, and avoiding the trap of returning to activity too soon.
Not always. Many injuries are diagnosed clinically without imaging. Where imaging is needed, your physician will order it after the initial consult — often X-rays, occasionally MRI. Imaging is OHIP-covered when ordered for medical reasons.
Yes. After concussion or injury assessment, we issue medical notes for work, school, and sport accommodations as clinically appropriate.
Yes — we recommend specific physiotherapists where you live, and coordinate care via faxed treatment plans. Sports medicine works best when physician guidance and physiotherapy hands-on work are integrated.
Performance medicine focuses on optimising athletes who are NOT injured — sleep, recovery, nutrition, iron status, hormonal balance, and event-specific preparation. Useful for serious recreational athletes, age-group competitors, and anyone training for a major event.
