About This Program

Specialist dermatology, accessible

Virtual dermatology consultations for acne, eczema, psoriasis, hair loss, mole evaluations, and skin condition diagnosis. Led by experienced dermatologists. In-person follow-up coordinated for procedures or biopsies when clinically indicated.

A 4-month wait to see a dermatologist for a skin issue is the norm in Ontario. For acne, hair loss, eczema flares — that wait can be the difference between simple treatment and permanent damage. Our program eliminates that wait.

Most skin conditions can be diagnosed and managed virtually — high-quality phone cameras, dermatologist-trained eyes, and modern teledermatology protocols mean you can get OHIP-covered specialist skin care fast, typically within 1 week.

Mole Checks & Skin Cancer Assessment

Our dermatology team assesses moles, skin lesions and concerning skin changes through virtual review and referral for in-person assessment or biopsy where clinically indicated.

Our Process

How your program works

A clear pathway from photos to diagnosis to treatment.

1

Initial Intake & Photos

Complete a short intake form online and upload high-quality photos of your skin concern (we will guide you on how to take them).

2

Photo Triage

Our dermatology team reviews your photos and intake within one business day to confirm whether photo-based assessment is sufficient or if more is needed.

3

Specialist Consultation

A virtual consultation with your DOS dermatologist to discuss findings, diagnosis, and treatment plan.

4

Prescription & Plan Start

Prescriptions sent directly to your pharmacy. For mole evaluations or biopsies, we coordinate referral to a local centre.

5

Follow-Up & Re-Assessment

Most skin conditions need follow-up to assess treatment response and adjust. Subsequent visits typically every 4–8 weeks during active treatment phases.

Frequently Asked Questions

Conditions Treated by Our Dermatology Program

Common questions about virtual dermatology care.

For the vast majority of common skin conditions, yes. Modern phone cameras provide high-resolution images that allow accurate diagnosis. Where photos are inconclusive, we will let you know and arrange in-person follow-up.
Natural daylight, no flash, focus on the area, take both close-up and a wider context shot. We will send you specific guidance based on your concern (a mole assessment needs different photos than an acne flare).
No — procedures require in-person care. But we can assess whether a mole needs removal, and refer you to a local provider for the procedure. We can also write referrals for cosmetic skin tag removal where indicated.
Accutane (isotretinoin) requires close monitoring including monthly labs and pregnancy testing for women. We can initiate Accutane therapy through our program, with appropriate lab requisitions and follow-up.
Specialist consultations with our dermatologists are typically billable to OHIP for Ontario residents with valid health cards. Some cosmetic concerns may not qualify for OHIP coverage.
Suspected skin cancer (especially melanoma) is time-sensitive. If a mole is changing, bleeding, or growing rapidly, see a doctor in person urgently — do not wait for a virtual appointment. For routine mole evaluations, our virtual program is appropriate.
