Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common hormonal condition that can affect periods, skin, weight, and fertility. Doctors On Site connects Ontario patients with licensed physicians who assess your symptoms and, where clinically appropriate, build a management plan — which may include medication, cycle regulation, and coordinated follow-up.
Book a Physician Assessment →PCOS is a hormonal condition associated with irregular ovulation, higher levels of androgens (which can cause acne or excess hair growth), and in many cases insulin resistance. There is no single "cure," but symptoms can often be managed. Depending on your goals, a physician may discuss lifestyle measures, combined hormonal contraceptives to help regulate cycles and manage androgen-related symptoms, metformin where insulin resistance is a factor, anti-androgen medications, and weight-management options. Fertility-specific treatment may be coordinated where appropriate.
Doctors On Site physicians commonly assess patients seen through our programs, including:
Management is individualised to your symptoms and goals. Combined hormonal contraceptives can help regulate cycles and reduce androgen-related symptoms; metformin may help where insulin resistance is present; anti-androgens may be considered for skin and hair symptoms; and weight-management support may be offered when relevant. A physician determines which combination is clinically appropriate and arranges any tests or follow-up.
